On Tuesday, we plan to release the latest version of Catalytic. Read about some of the exciting new features below and register for our release webinar on January 21 at 10am CST to learn how to take full advantage of these new capabilities.
Field Validation ✅
Ensure you gather clean data in your forms with field validation. Define the values or patterns that are permitted in a field and the error messages to display for erroneous data. Examples include:
- Email addresses
- Social Security numbers
- Account numbers
- Minimum / maximum values
- Minimum / maximum number of characters
Inline Actions and Batch Tables 📥
Now, you can embed subprocesses directly within a single pushbot using inline actions. This not only makes building pushbots faster and more intuitive, but it also makes it easier to understand pushbots with lots of actions. Each block can be expanded or collapsed.
Additionally, when you start a pushbot for each row of a spreadsheet or data table, the Successful Instances table will now include all of the fields from the subprocesses. This means that you no longer need to create an empty table and add rows to it in your subprocesses.
Upgraded Excel Actions 🔢
All Excel actions have been upgraded to handle XLSX files up to 100 MB, and now support:
- Conditional formatting
- Charts
- Images
- Page margins
- Hidden sheets
- Protected sheets
We also added the new action, Excel: Join two sheets, which combines data from two spreadsheets based on matches in selected columns.
Data Retention Controls ❌
When gathering personally identifiable information (PII) or personal health information (PHI), it's a good practice to delete the data when finished with it. Additionally, your organization may have standard policies for the length of time that different types of data should be retained. Now, you can enable data retention controls for a pushbot and set the amount of time before deletion.
