What are the use cases for browser automation?
Hello, dear team:
I want to know what are the use cases for catalytic browser automation.
Based on the page https://help.catalytic.com/guides/start-using-browser-automation/, I know catalytic can automate input data into webforms based on rows in a spreadsheet or data table.
How about other use case?
1. When I automate to make a search in google, can I use catalytic to export the searched result to a field?
2. When I automate to click a File download button on the web, can I use catalytic to save the file to a field?
3. Can I use catalytic to automate to print the chrome page to a PDF file and save to a field?
Thank you.

Hello,
This help article describes several other common use cases for browser automation: https://help.catalytic.com/docs/browser-automation/- Bridge the gap and transfer data between legacy applications and modern applications
- Add data or interact with a web application that does not have an available API
- Login, input data, or gather reports from systems like SAP
- Input data into webforms based on rows in a spreadsheet or data table
- Perform searches on Google or other search engines, and interact with websites
- Download or retrieve files from a system with limited export capabilities
As far as the specific use cases that you describe:
1. Yes! This would be a great use case for Catalytic browser automation.
2. This depends on how the webpage you are trying to instrument handles the file download. In some cases you can use browser automation actions to navigate to the page which contains the link to download the file and identify the download URL, and then use the "Web: Download a file" action to download the file from that URL. https://help.catalytic.com/docs/web-download-a-file/
3. Unfortunately this is not possible today. The closest workaround would be to use the screenshot image file that is output by each browser automation action.Hope this helps!
